Founded in 2010, Next Stage Arts grew out of a community-led effort to transform a historic church in the center of Putney, Vermont into an accessible performance space — restoring its exceptional acoustics and its traditional role as a gathering place. A full renovation, completed in 2016, created a 195-seat, fully accessible, state-of-the-art venue. Live music has been the core of our work since founding, and as the only year-round presenting venue in our area, we bring local, regional, national, and international artists to our community year-round. With more than 100 programs a year, Next Stage is a magnet for community connection — and a regional cultural hub where live music continues to be the catalyst for our mission.
