Actual
Proof is a unique Jazz-Fusion quartet that draws on musical
traditions that have produced infectious grooves—Jazz,
Afro-Cuban, West-African, and Funk traditions. The group is
unique as it features Eric Mullis on vibraphone and mallet
percussion. The group has been regularly performing
in the South-East since the fall of 2007. In July of 2009
Actual Proof released its full- length debut CD Paradigm
Shift. Songs from Paradigm Shift have been featured
on WNCW (Asheville NC), WUSC (Columbia SC), 98.1 The River
(Asheville NC), WSHA (Raleigh NC), and 106.5The End
(Charlotte NC).
"On
Paradigm Shift, Actual Proof revitalizes jazz fusion. Their
music is always funky (with powerful bass playing by
Berkley), but the jazz quotient is also quite high for the
band constantly improvises, tugging at and stretching the
boundaries of funky fusion, bringing in the best qualities
of electric jazz and rock.
While
each of the musicians in Actual Proof are excellent soloists,
it is the distinctive ensemble sound that really sticks in
one's mind. The prominence of vibraphonist Eric Mullis helps
to give the group its own musical personality. Paradigm
Shift contains more than its share of variety, danceable
grooves and bright moments, showing that there is still plenty
of life to be found in creative fusion."

The Live Music Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to
providing independent artists with creative exposure through the
archiving and sharing of live concert audio, video,
and photos made avaiable for free download or stream here at
livemusicsociety.org. We connect live music lovers with the live
music makers by compiling an extensive
archive of live music and photos from bands we've worked with, shows we've been
involved with, or exceptional free and legal bootleg recordings of taper-friendly
performers.
Our
tapers, photographers, and taper friendly artists share a
passion for archiving live events and are willing to offer their archived media
to you free of charge. However, we do incur expenses while maintaining
this website. We ask that from time to time you make a
small voluntary donation to help us offset our operating costs, pay for
hosting, etc. If you download or stream 5 shows a reasonable donation might be
$1 but you're never obligated to make one. You already have
unlimited access to the live music archive whether you donate or
not. To stream a concert simply browse and choose the
"Streaming Audio" link or
"Download" to download the entire fileset
for easy burining or transfer to your mp3 player.
Use
our Facebook and Twitter share buttons to share download links
with friends. This helps bands spread their music and reach new
listeners/ticket buyers. This also helps to stimulate the live music
community as a whole. Turning friends onto new music is what we're
all about.
Should
you ever choose to donate to the Live Music Society be assured
that your donation helps LMS continue doing what we do for live
original taper-friendly musicians, bands, and their fans. Streaming audio
and downloads of shows are free and does not require registration.
However, we hope you'll join
for the disucssions, email updates, and ticket giveaways offered
only to LMS members.
We're run solely by
volunteers and funded through memberships, donations, and online advertising. Monies
donated through our website help to defer the costs to run the Live
Music Society. 20% is dispersed quarterly to the LMS tapers, and photographers on a basis
proprotionate to their media contributions when donations exceed
$200. This helps to defer some, but
not all of their costs for travel, equipment, and the considerable
time spent to post-process shows. Our remaining profits benefit the music
departments of schools struggling from budget cutbacks as we feel
one of the best ways to support live original music is to support
it's future musicians.
